Like your pick-ups both head-turning AND fun to drive? This awesome 3100 is just what you've been looking for!
EXTENDED APPEAL
Fully sorted and ready to roll, this polished pickup is the beneficiary of a multi-year, nut-and-bolt build that was completed by a professional restorer. Now, we phrase it that way because this wasn't some cash-for-labor trade that resulted in a shiny new classic. No, this Chevy was literally a passion project of the guy that all the other guys pay to restore their passion projects. And that's no doubt why the truck is, for starters, so nice, and ultimately, so incredibly cool!
A heavy dose of tempered charm comes courtesy of Axalta Hot Hues Techno Blue two-stage, which begins at an original GM hood that's been modified with a sporty Subaru scoop. That forward-tilt bonnet shades a polished grille, which rides between chrome-trimmed headlights, clear turn indicators and a polished bumper. That bumper bends around sculpted fenders, which lead a completely custom cab that's been extended a full 10 inches. That Big Window Cab, constructed using two roofs and four doors, props tinted glass between polished mirrors, guarded handles and polished stainless wipers. A frenched antenna joins a flush Center High Mount Stop lamp to lead a massaged bed, which lays hand-built carbon fiber flooring between a relocated fuel filler and hand-built carbon fiber wheel wells. And at the back of that stainless-trimmed hold, a shaved and smoothed tailgate shades a custom roll pan that's finished with flush tail lamps.
350 + .030
Tilt the hood and you'll find 355 cubic inches of small block Chevy that was freshly rebuilt during the truck's extensive restoration. At the top of that 4-bolt mill, a contrasted air cleaner dumps oxygen through a big Brawler 4-barrel that's married to braided lines and a coated pump. Wind and fuel make their way through a Weiand Team G intake to iron, 2.02 heads, which float classy Chevrolet valve covers under color-keyed breathers. The fires get lit by a hot HEI distributor, which sparks loomed Taylor plug wires. Compression is created by a solid roller cam. Spent gases fall through rowdy Patriot headers. At the front of those tubes, billet pulleys spins an Edelbrock water pump between a polished Powermaster alternator and a polished AC compressor. At the front of those ancillaries, an electric puller fan cools a polished aluminum radiator. First rate detailing includes polished tanks, a Wilwood clutch reservoir and a Wilwood master cylinder. And everything looks great between a massaged firewall and hand-built carbon fiber fenders.
LAYERS OF CUSTOM
Slide beneath this rig and you'll find solid, fully textured floors that are founded on a custom-fabricated chassis. Those Satin Black bones get led by an '81 Camaro front-clip, which props modern coil-overs behind 2-inch drop spindles. Opposite that clip, traditional leaf springs play well with quality KYB shocks. A tough RAM Powergrip clutch kicks a restoration-fresh Tremec TKO500 5-speed, which twists torque to a restoration-fresh Currie 9-inch that's built with 3.50 gears, a posi-traction differential and 28-spline axles. That momentum is countered by a quartet of Wilwood calipers, which squeeze a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Power-assisted turns come courtesy of a 12:1 steering box. The aforementioned headers dump spent gases into welded mufflers and side-exit pipes that have been carefully integrated into the truck's brief running boards. Plenty of 'go juice' is supplied by a 16-gallon fuel tank. And at the corners, polished American Racing Torq Thrust IIs spin 215/45ZR17 Dunlop SP Sports in front of 315/35ZR17 Dunlop SP Sports.
COOL IN CONTRAST
But the show doesn't stop there. Not by a long shot! When you pop this Chevy's upgraded door latches, you'll find a detail-oriented cockpit that, like the truck's slick body, is dialed in for both style and substance. Top dead center, a smoothed dash hangs sleek digital telemetry next to a modern Pioneer head unit. That Bluetooth-capable audio powers an integrated Rockford Fosgate amplifier, which bumps 10-inch Hertz subs and crisp MB Quart speakers. Power-operated buckets, cribbed from a 2008 Cadillac, are perfectly aligned with custom door and cab skins that are garnished with carbon fiber. Clean carpet highlights a custom steel and carbon fiber console that's built around modern air conditioning, a Hurst shifter and billet power window switches that drop one-piece door glass. And the driver spins a polished and half-wrapped Billet Specialties steering wheel around a tilting column and billet foot pedals.
Fun to cruise and even more fun to look at, this choice Chevy should make every enthusiast smile. It backs proven performance with a solid, one-of-a-kind restoration that's ready to conquer the blacktop and stop the show! Call your friends at http://www.RKMotors.com to claim this awesome piece of classic Americana!
