Pro Built Chevy 3100 GM LS V8 4-speed Auto PS PB A/C Leather Posi S-10 Chassis
Chevrolet's prolific Advance Design trucks are timeless American legends. So, how do you make a classic that's already as cool as this 1951 3100 even more desirable? You start with a roster of reliable resto-mod hardware that's wrapped in a crisp body, throw in some modern comfort, and layer it all in striking street rod swagger. Like your pick-ups both head-turning AND fun to drive? This awesome stepside is just what the doctor ordered!
CERAMIC KOLOR KANDY
Fully sorted and ready to roll, this clean cruiser is the beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration that mixes polished poise with proven athleticism. That build, completed by the pros at Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania's Tony's Muscle Cars, was carefully sealed in a charming coat of House Of Kolor Shimrin Apple Red Kandy. That deep two-stage was lovingly coated in two-year ceramic right here in the RKM Performance Center by our own professional detailer. And today, this Chevy rolls as uniquely familiar Americana that's easy to live with and even easier to look at!
The exhibit kicks off with a polished bumper, which guards a polished and white-trimmed grille between stainless-trimmed headlights, a patriotic Chevrolet header and original front fenders. An original hood, shaved of its side emblems, fronts a filled cowl, which fronts an original, stainless-trimmed cab that's cleared by polished wipers and reflected in bowtie-stamped mirrors. Body-matched visors parallel a sculpted profile that's finished with factory door handles and stylized locks. A massaged bed plants a polished fuel filler amid bright wood and stainless skid strips. And sleeved chains lower a factory tailgate over a custom roll pan and custom Blue Dot Taillights.
POWER FOR MILES
Check this Chevy's smoothed and body matched engine bay and you'll find 5.3 liters of proven GM small block that spins smooth horsepower into miles of open-road reliability! At the front of that spry LS mill, a remote filter funnels wind into a polished tube, which fronts a factory GM throttle body. A factory intake, peaked with a custom shroud, sends a finely tuned mixture of fuel and air into sturdy 862 heads, which float attractive Chevrolet valve covers under a polished oil cap. Those stock heads cap a stock, factory-spec rotating assembly. A fluid serpentine drive spins modern power steering under modern AC and a modern alternator. Relocated coils fire loomed plug wires, which split coated headers. And a big Champion radiator fronts a quick electric puller fan.
ENJOY THE DRIVE
Slide under this rig and you'll find a solid, road ready chassis that was swiped directly from a 1988 Chevy S-10. Those bones, affixed through an American made Code 504 conversion kit, have been completely sandblasted and coated in a striking combination of Cortez Silver and Satin Black skin. Behind the five-three, a dressed 4L60E 4-speed sends shifts through a tough 10-bolt axle that cages 3.73 gears inside a posi-traction differential. Lucid power steering leads a floor-mount brake booster, which cinches body-matched calipers around a quartet of vented discs. The aforementioned headers dump spent gases into custom, 2.5-inch pipes, which hang an X-shaped crossover in front of rowdy Xlerator Turbo Mufflers and polished stainless tips. And at the corners, polished Billet Specialties Speedways spin 235/60R18 BF Goodrich Advantage T/As in front of 255/55R18 BF Goodrich Advantage T/As.
CUSTOM YET RETRO
Hop in the truck's tastefully upgraded cockpit and perch on retrofitted buckets that wrap tight leather around power adjustment for both passengers. A smoothed and customized dash hangs tasteful Dolphin telemetry next to controls for modern air conditioning and modern Dual audio that's equipped with standard Bluetooth. Premium carpet frames custom door panels, a billet accelerator pedal and a long Lokar shifter that's pointed at a custom headliner. And the driver feels the road through a polished and half-wrapped steering wheel that laps a polished, tilting column.
It's really no wonder Chevy trucks enjoy such huge popularity. With time-tested strength, storied power and enough curb appeal to make every day picturesque, they're the perfect combination of form and function.
