Award Winning 3-Window Custom LS3 V8 6-speed Manual Custom Leather IRS
Quality is timeless.
This incredible Ford is, literally, brilliant proof of that statement. Mixing all the best traits of modern street rodding with world class planning and assembly, this coupe is a standout in the street rod scene, winning major honors at Goodguys and Shade of the Past alike. Of course, to pull off an incredible build like this, everything you do HAS to be flawless. From the car's striking Outlaw body, to its proven LS powertrain and one-off, custom interior, there's simply nowhere subpar workmanship can hide. Looking for a quintessential classic that's road ready, show-ready and just plain ready to rock and roll? Roll up the metal curtain and crank up this fantastic Ford!
NUMBER 28
Built to be paraded and parked, this national award winning Ford is the 28th street rod assembled by its builder -- a life-long gearhead who, as you can probably tell, knows a thing of two about creating octane-fueled art. Constructed around solid Outlaw Performance fiberglass, this coupe's crisp panels mix a series of smooth planes with 12-point ARP fasteners to create an arrow-straight profile that would give any high-dollar garage queen a serious run for its money. And, since a profile that nice deserves to be seen and celebrated, it wears deep PPG two-stage that's somehow delightfully fresh while being decidedly vintage.
At the front of that rich pigment, a polished frame spreader centers LED parking lamps beneath a polished headlight bar that's finished with traditional halogen torches. Behind those lights, a steel shell frames a polished Dan Fink grille, which leads a steel, 3-piece hood. Behind that bonnet, a chopped greenhouse slides smoked glass down trick suicide doors. Those doors open to steel running boards that are balanced on a full suite of steel fenders. And at the back of those flares, a shaved decklid shades subtle Greening Auto Company taillights.
515 HORSES
Activate this classic's Hagan latch assembly and you'll find 6.2 liters of proven LS3 that, sourced directly from Chevrolet Performance, create an easy 515 horsepower! At the top of that modern aluminum mill, a custom air cleaner funnels wind into a trio of FiTech 3x2 Tri-Power throttle bodies that are wired with, you guessed it, quality FiTech Go EFI fuel injection. That explosive elixir drops through a custom, one-off Hogan's Racing Manifolds intake that rang up to a hefty $4,800. That manifold feeds aluminum, rectangular-port heads, which tuck effortlessly under attractive Billet Specialties valve covers. A nodular crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons provide stout 10.7 to 1 compression, while a hydraulic ASA Hot Cam maximizes intake efficiency. Speaking of breathing, the monochromatic block funnels spent gases through custom stainless headers. A dressed Walker radiator fronts a quick-spinning puller fan. And the smooth engine bay is dotted with first rate details like polished engine mounts, polished serpentine components, Redhorse Performance fluid lines and a clean Billet Specialties valley plate.
OUTLAW THROUGH AND THROUGH
Naturally, this impressive custom's slick Outlaw Performance body rides a high quality Outlaw Performance frame. Those bones, narrowed at the rear, skate a polished Kugel Komponents suspension, which mixes tubular control arms with quality QA-1 coil-overs. That chassis, propped on a fully independent, Jaguar-style rear-clip, employs a posi-traction differential and big, 3.90 gears. Power is applied through a tough Tremec T56 6-speed that, sourced directly from Chevrolet Performance, twists a fully polished driveshaft. Turns come courtesy of manual rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are provided by polished, six-piston Wilwoods, which clamp 13-inch, drilled and slotted rotors. Polished, large-diameter pipes cage polished, glasspack-style mufflers. And at the corners of the car, brushed Billet Specialties Reapers spin 205/45R17 Pirelli P Zeros in front of 295/45ZR20 Pirelli P Zeros.
LEATHER LUXURY
Inside this awesome coupe you'll find $18K worth of custom Tan leather that was installed by the pros at Cornelius, North Carolina's Hot Rod Interiors. One-off honeycomb seat covers hug a duo of modern buckets. Those buckets ride piped carpet, which centers a snazzy billet shifter between polished pedals, billet handles and full side panels that front trick power windows. A honeycomb themed dash hangs clean Classic Instruments telemetry in front of American Autowire Highway 22 wiring. That wiring fires a crisp Kenwood CD player, which hangs from a sculpted headliner. The driver spins a polished and leather-wrapped steering wheel around a polished, tilting column. And everything shines true under tasteful LED accent lighting.
It's impossible to guess how many hours it took to construct this amazing custom. But, given the lengthy list of equipment that went in to its build, our asking price probably wouldn't even cover the components, let alone labor. At first glance, the car appears to be a basic and simple piece, but an acute attention to detail and amazing quality grab your attention almost instantly. All that said, one thing is certain: thrilling and timeless, there's simply no hiding how brilliant this Ford is when it's centerstage!
