This Ford's detailed, ground-up build began with a high quality Downs fiberglass body that features a stylish chop and familiar suicide doors. Naturally, that fresh resin was carefully prepped, layered in bold red 2-stage and lit with wicked, green-lined flames. And today, wrapping killer SoCal aesthetics around fully sorted mechanicals, this coupe rolls as a choice classic that simply oozes cool! At the front of the car, a steel shell centers a polished grille between Adjure motorcycle headlights. Behind that grille, a louvered, 3-piece hood leads a tinted greenhouse that's cleared by a small, roof-mounted wiper. At the sides of that glass, electronically-popped doors swivel small billet mirrors. And at the back of the car, flush taillights frame a shaved decklid.
SMALL BLOCK STANDARD
Activate this Ford's trick Dan Fink Double Opening hood hardware and you'll find 350 cubic inches of trusty Chevy small block. The polished and color-keyed mill revs under a coated, Lokar-controlled Holley, which rides between a reduced-diameter air cleaner and a proven Edelbrock Performer 2101 intake. At the perimeter of that intake, cast iron heads tilt polished and finned valve covers between polished Edelbrock breathers and coated block hugger headers. At the back of those covers, an aftermarket distributor sequences spark through loomed Taylor plug wires. In front of those wires, polished serpentine components spin a polished alternator opposite a polished AC compressor. At the front of those ancillaries, a big Walker radiator circulates clean coolant past a polished expansion tank and a large puller fan. And, speaking of ancillaries, items like a polished starter, a polished oil pan and trick dipsticks round out the details.
UPDATES AND UPGRADES
Under this impressive custom, a dressed and cooled Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed engages an aluminum driveshaft to spin power through a 9-inch Ford axle. That axle pushes a triangulated 4-bar suspension that's dampered with modern coil-over-shocks. Opposite that 4-bar, polished steering threads polished wishbones, which cage a polished axle and two more modern coil-overs. That suspension rolls under a full Total Cost Involved chassis, which is bolted to insulated floors. A steady stream of fossils pressurizes braided lines thanks to an electric Mr. Gasket pump. Power-assisted stops come courtesy of polished calipers and more braided lines. Exhaust traverses heat-wrapped pipes, which center polished, glasspack-style mufflers in front of polished stainless tips. And at the corners of the floor, chromed American Racing Novas spin 225/45ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 295/45R20 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As.
STYLE AND SUBSTANCE

Front and center, bolstered buckets feel firm and supportive under discreet shoulder belts. In front of those seats, a body-matched dash centers crisp Shark Gauges behind a billet instrument panel. At the edges of that dash, billet handles front custom side panels, which front power-operated windows. Opposite those panels, a small console toggles a tall Lokar shifter behind billet-trimmed air conditioning. Opposite that console, a sculpted headliner frames modern audio. And in front of the driver, a polished steering wheel laps billet foot pedals, a bright Super Pro tach and a polished, tilting column.
